She'd been dancing earlier. Right in the hallways, in front of everyone. She'd just been that happy, and felt the need to express it. So she'd grabbed a boy's hand, and they'd danced. People had stared but she didn't care. They laughed as they spun and twirled, her skin glowing from all the joy. The sun had been so bright today, shone so strongly. How could she have not danced?
She'd been happy all day, and she'd been radiating warmth and light as she grinned and giggled her way through her lessons. Her joy had been infectious, and she wasn't alone with her grins. Now however, her smile was starting to die. It wasn't hard to figure out that they day was coming to an end, as her footsteps became heavier and her eyes sadder. They'd lost their sparkle.
Summer pushed open the door and stepped outside. Her expression was sad and her eyes haunted as she watched the sun sinking behind the trees. The light was still fighting to be seen, and that hope kept her on her feet. It wasn't over yet.
The moon had just risen, and was visable pale against the sky. She glanced at it, and felt that sudden rush of emptiness. The lamps at the corners fo the courtyard dimmed and the air cooled suddenly, as her enviroment reacted to her emotions.
She stood there, at the heart of the courtyard, her skin glowing slightly. It was not a warm golden glow that inspired smiles however, there was something sad about the way she shone. Her dark eyes stayed on the setting sun, as she stared up at the sky. Sometimes she wished she could just freeze time, so that the sun never sank. So she was never left alone in the darkness, waiting for the sunrise to remind her she was alive and she could survive. But the fact was, she couldn't. The sun sank, and the moon rose. It was how it always had been.
The night was coming, and so was the lonliness...

Tsuki's skin was pale as she emerged from the secret entrance to the Hive's long tunnels. She'd been hiding out down there ever since the last class of the day, which had end hours ago. She was glad that it was fall and that the days were getting shorter, her beloved moon coming out sooner. It was just visible in the darkening sky. It was so full, tonight, it made her pale skin glow as if she were illuminated from the inside. Her necklace caste reflections of the last rays from the sun onto the nearby trees as she made her way to the heart of the courtyard to greet her beloved moon.
Most laughed at her worship of the earths satellite, but she just brushed them off. They didn't understand; they never would. Never could.
How could they? They'd never felt the tranquil peace the moon brings. The present coolness it delivers.
When she finally reached the center of the courtyard, an area surrounded and enclosed by trees with a perfect circular spot in the middle that was bare of grass, a perfect pond in its place, she smiled.
"Et na luneh meh fra tu." She murmured, her own language, the small pond icing over thickly at her command. Se stepped carefully onto it, then sank to her knees, bowing with her forehead to the ice in the direction the moon was coming from.
"Vateel, meh noma." She murmured, smiling as she felt the moon glowing slowly brighter. In return, her own nearly translucent skin lightened, both illuminating the courtyard in the suns arriving absence.
"Sah tu." She sighed, raising her face to the moon, a wide grin in greeting spreading on her face.
((Ok, yes, I wanna make her a language. Heres the translation;
Et na luneh, meh fra tu.;; For the moon, I freeze you.
Vateel, meh noma.;; Welcome, my friend.
Sah tu.;; Thank you.))

Summer felt so alone, she wanted to drop to her knees and cry. The moon was shining, and the sun was sinking and everything she held onto was slipping away. She bit her lip, catching it in her teeth to stop herself crying out. Her arms wrapped around her stomach, as she tried to stop herself falling apart.
Then, in a heartbeat she didn't feel empty anymore. Her eyes widened in suprise, and she glanced around to try and find a cause. She didn't understand. The sun was still sinking, and the moon was still rising. She was still alone... Or was she?
There was another girl in the clearing. Luminously pale and kneeling on a frozen pool. She was speaking softly to the skies, but Summer didn't understand the words. She could only stare at the girl, wondering if she was the reason. She couldn't be? Could she.
"H-Hello?"
She stammered the word out, her tones unsteady and unsure.

Tsuki's attention was suddenly torn. She felt... different. Not bad, but not as empty as she should feel, at this point. The sun was still visible, and yet she felt like nothing was missing. She felt... Whole.
Her head whipped around when she heard the other girl. The voice was so like her own... But warmer. When she saw who it was, her eyes widened, at the same time the ice cracked. IT had gone too cold, too brittle. Too much power.
"Wow!" She yelped, getting off the ice as fast as possible.
"Han a tu?" She gasped, looking up at the girl. She quickly caught herself, though, switching back to English. "Who are you?" She repeated so the stranger could understand. She felt as though she knew the girl but... She didn't.
((Han a Tu?;; Who are you?))

Summer reached out a hand instictively as the ice cracked, but quickly withdrew it. Her abilities wouldn't help, the ice would only melt faster when sunlight and heat was added. She blinked at the foreign words, not recognising the language. Then understanding dawned.
"Oh, um I'm Summer. Natsu Jo-oo. Or I guess you can call me Taiyoo Chikara - that's my insignia."
She held up her wrist to show the marking, and it flashed a brilliant golden colour. Her skin was glowing brighter by the second, light sparkling across her body.
"What's your name?"
She was still confused, and wasn't sure what was going on. She didn't know whether to stay or run away as fast as she could go. She didn't want to run though, she still felt safe, and whole and complete. But she'd never felt that whole, and that was what scared her.

Tsuki stood slowly as the girl talked, marveling inwardly at how much the girl sounded like her.
"Tsuki Fuyu." She said, and held up her wrist. "My insignia's Tsuki Isei. You can, uh, just call me Tsuki, or Luna, I guess."
The grass beneath Tsuki's feet began to freeze, a result of the odd power that she suddenly felt, and the sense that it didn't quite matter. something would melt it.
The strange sense of wholeness in her made her hand instinctively go to the moon hanging from her neck, the metal oddly warm against her skin.

As her skin glowed, the emotion changing from the sun's sorrow to a strange shade of joy, the stolen light and heat she had imprisoned inside her body was released again. The lamps began to shine bright again, and warmth spread across the clearing. The area arround the blonde was beginging to become more like a summer day than a winter night. The ice melted under the rush of heat, and Summer smiled. It seemed right somehow. Everything seemed right.
"Luna. That's a... pretty name. I'm not such a fan of your name-sake though, I have to admit...It makes me lonely."
Something compelled her to take a few steps forward, something edging her to be closer to the strangley pale girl. Summer was glowing brightly, the golden light reflecting on the now damp grass.
"I'm sorry about the glowing, can't help it..."
She murmured an apology, dark eyes fixed on the raven haired girl.

"It's ok," She smiled, taking a tentative step forward. "I... I like it. But your name does make me lonely, as well... Odd."
She noticed the grass beneath her melt, the warmth from the other girl, oddly, didn't send a pang to her heart. Where it had started to feel like Winter around her, the other girls warmth, mixed with her own chill, made it feel more like the crisp, but not cold, Fall night it was supposed to be. As if they balanced each other out.
Her insignia started glowing silver; the color tranquil, and not as showing as the other girls, but bright all the same. She felt an energetic joy run through her were pleasant calm usually settled.
It wasn't something she should be used to, at all, but she couldn't find a truely plausable reason to object.

Summer smiled at the words. The glowing unsettled a lot of people, as did her effect on the atmosphere. She was so unstable most of the time, that was the problem. All over the place, like the floor was spinning and she was loosing her balance. Except now the ground was steady, and she was standing firm. And she couldn't help but notice that the girl had arrived the moment she'd noticed this new sense of stability. It had to be more of a coincedence, Summer was sure of that.
"It is kinda odd, huh? But I'm pretty sure it's the good kind of odd, y'know? It's just a vibe I'm picking up or something... I don't know..."
She trailed off, her dark eyes noticing the similarities in the other girl. She could see herself in that pale face, which didn't make any sense. But it didn't change what she saw.

"Yeah..." Luna nodded slowly, then bit her lip. "It's like... I know you from somewhere... I think... But then, I don't... Ok, now my head's starting to hurt..."
She shook her head, though a small smile was starting to spread across her lips. Her hand unconsciously tightened around her necklace as she took another small step forward. This was too weird for her to make complete sense of...

"You look... familair. But different at the same time. Fuzzy..."
Summer frowned as the girl declared an aching head, struck by the desire to comfort her. That wasn't too unnnatural, Summer was forever cuddling people and trying to fix them. The blonde didn't think much about her next actions, just reached out and gathered the other girl into her arms, holding her in a tight, yet gentle hug. Nothing special or dramatic about it.
Or at least that's what she thought.
However, the moment she actually touched the girl, it seemed there was an explosion. Her glowing skin burst into a bright light, and heat and warmth raged through her. The light surrounded her in a bubble, making it hard to see anything but the light. Golden, burning light. And the heat... Like a desert. Sudden panic took over the girl, and she released her hold and stumbled backwards.
"W-What?"
She managed to stammer, still glowing feircely. Summer couldn't identify what was causing that sensational glow, there was too many emotions running through her. All she knew was when she touched the other girl she felt... Power. Raw power.

She probably should her objected to the hug- physical contact generally wasn't Luna's thing. But she didn't. Something in her craved it. When Summer gathered her up, though, she couldn't help feeling releaved- though shocked, none the less.
As Summer glowed a bright golden, a silver light, illuminated from her pale skin, engulfed Tsuki. It was colder than the most blistering artic tungera, for her. Every bone ine her body, every cell, every ounce of blood felt frozen and brittle. Anyone else would have dies in an instant, but Tsuki wasn't like anyone else. The crisp, frozen air made her feel alive. Though she was still shocked, it sent delight through her. She felt alive. Like the most powerful marked alive.
But then Summer released her, staggering back. She felt her necklace, which, at some point she'd apparently let go of, snap away from the other girl, thudding against the bare skin at her neck. The heat of it would have rivaled the heat Summer felt, though Tsuki didn't know that. She saw a necklace drop back to Summer's neck, as if it and her own had been holding on for dear life to each other, but given up. The little golden sun seemed to have ice around it's edges. How odd.
Summer was still glowing golden, just as Twuki was still glowing silver.
"So..." Tsuki said in a small, shaky voice, looking to the other girls eyes. "You felt it too, then?"

Summer wasn't sure what to do for a few moments, she couldn't see becuase of the light. Besides, the heat was clawing at her skin. For a moment, she was on the verge of panic and then a sense of control reassrted itself. She reminded herself of what she could do, and who she was. The sun held no fear for her, nor would ti harm or hinder her. As she focused her energy on those thoughts, the heat was suddenly just a comforting sensation and she could see through the light easily again. She didn't doubt the fact she was still glowing, her skin was still vivid. Not much she could do about that...
Summer exhaled slowly, and as she calmed down and stopped fretting about the heat she became aware that there was cold patch at her throat. How unusual. Her hand moved instictivley towards her collarbone, and she wrapped her hand around the golden sun hanging inthe hollow of her throat. It was coated with ice. She shivvered slightly at the touch, but didn't let go. The ice began to thaw out from her touch, as was only natural.
Slowly, she returned her gaze to Tsuki and nodded her head in confirmation to her words.
"Normally... Normally I would be scared by something like that. But, I'm not. Now that doesn't make sense! This has never happened before... Ever."
She said, the finality in her last word begging and screaming questions that Summer couldn't ask and she certaintly couldn't answer...

Tsuki shook her head, confusion seizing her.
"It's never happened to me, either." She murmured. "It's like... it shouldn't have happened, but at the same time it was supposed to... had to... Like it was meant to-"
Something in her made her words stop. Her eyes fell back on Summer's necklace.
"Where... Where did you get that?" Luna asked, her own hand rising to cool her own pendant. It was so like her own in style, but the fact that it was golden and a sun was different. But still, she couldn't help wondering. Thinking it might be linked to her quite unknown past.

Summer enclosed the warming metal in her hand, an instinctive sheilding motion. She'd always felt the need to keep the necklace safe, which was why she kept it warm against her skin. The ice had gone now, though it had taken longer than usual. As if the metal had wanted to keep the clinging chill. Her tones were careful, and wary as she spoke.
"I've always had it. Since... Forever. Why?"
The last word was more of a suspicious demand than a question, as Summer watched the girl wrap a hand around her own necklace. Strange coincedence really, but it couldn't be more than that. Could it?

Luna ignored the question, her mind clinging to the similairities. She took a small, measured step forward.
"Does it have writing on the back? Writing that you can't read?" Her eyes went to Summer's eyes, her gaze chillingly intent, as if she were trying to find something hidden. Something she didn't know, but she was sure she could find... If only...

Summer was suddenly caught in a divide. Half of her was completley comfortable in the other girls presence, calm and relaxed and whole. However, there was something about the was Tsuki looked at her with those eyes. As if she was weilding an icy dagger that she was going to stab the blonde with. Summer's instinct was to melt away that ice, vanquish it with the sun. But she didn't want to at the same time.
Heat burned in her eyes, a stark contrast with the icy stare she was met with.
"Yeah, it has writing. Gibberish. It doesn't mean anything... You didn't answer my question. Why?"
It wasn't a question anymore, that much was obvious by the smoldering eyes, it was a demand.

In response, Luna moved her hands to the back of her own neck, unclasping the chain. Her eyes never left Summer's as she brought it in front of herself, cupping the small moon in her hand, and refastened the chain so it and the pendant wouldn't be separated.
Holding the chain tight in her hand, she held it out so the moon fell, suspended on the chain, and thrust it at arms length toward the other girl, the moon swinging for a moment before settling.
"Because," She said softly, "I've had mine for forever. And it has writing on the back that neither I or any teacher, linguistic, or anyone I've ever known can read."
It was probably stupid and irresponsible to be saying or doing this, but what choice did Luna have? She'd been searching for as long as she could remember. Every foster home in every town she went to, this search was her constant. She was convinced it would lead to her biological family.
"And plus," She murmured, her eyes now finding her little tethered moon. "It seems as though they know each other..."
Sure enough, Luna's pendant, as if magnetized, was pulling the chain taut, directly toward Summer's sun.

Summer watched the other girl carefully. The sun had gone now, but even though she'd felt it's dissapearance deep in her soul she hadn't felt the tearing in her soul as it was wrenched away. The moon wasn't tormenting her tonight. She was wary of the offering of the moon shaped pendent, shying away from the image of all that hurt her. However, seeing the chain stretch towards her made Summer reach up and unfasten the chain around her neck. Her throat felt empty and bare without the sun resting there, but she willingly held out the pendent , letting the gold clink against the silver.
For a moment Summer just looked at the two pendants, noting the similarites between them despite the stark differences. Night and Day. Ice and Fire. Silver and Gold. Yet, they danced and orbited eachother like they had been forged together. It was impossible.
Summer was suddenly filled with curiosity.
"May I...?"
She asked, reaching out her free hand towards the moon. She offered the golden sun towards Tsuki, as if to show her she meant no harm to the trinket.

"Of course," Luna nodded, resting her precious moon in the other girl's palm. She then carefully clutched the small sun, wrapping her fingers around it's warmth. It was odd; usually heat made her anxious, like the slightest bit above room temperature would burn her. But somehow, the warmth felt right.
She took a breath of the cool night in before bringing her hand toward her face, opening her fingers to examine the sun. She turned it over to look at the writing-
And froze.
"Lah meh Luneh..." She muttered, her eyes widening. She slowly looked up at Summer, shock clear on her face.
"It's no language I've ever seen before but..." She glanced down at the sun, then back up. "I can read it."
