He should be somewhere else. Somewhere stifling and oxygen starved, somewhere boring. History to be precise. But he didn't feel the need to be in that classroom, listening to the woman preach. It wasn't stuff he needed to know. He didn't intend to follow a career which was heavily influenced by the lives of people long dead and turned to dust.
So instead he'd gone up that old fire-escape and was now lying on the roof. He wasn't sure how many of the boys or even the girls knew about this spot, but for the moment it was just him. Tomoru didn't have a problem with being alone.
He lay on the roof, head resting on the balled up tee-shirt he'd just removed, leaving him in just his jeans. He wasn't cold after-all, not with his built in heating system. The sun was shining fairly well, which was always good. Tomoru liked the heat, even if he didn't feel it as much as other people. He knew it was there, and that was the point.
The boy heaved a sigh, and then snapped his fingers, causing a small flame to suddenly burst into life. He clicked them again and the flame was gone. Flame. No flame. He snapped his fingers repeatedly, watching the fickering fire with something close to boredom.
Skipping class was normally a good thing, but it all got so tedious sometimes.
What he really needed was a fun distraction for an hour or two...

Having a free period wasn't exactly Dori's favorite thing. She got bored, easily, and there wasn't always enough people to really mess with. So, instead of sitting around, waiting for her next class, she went for a walk.
Her pink hair blew lightly in the breeze, even though she had her usual beanie on over it. Her hands where jammed in the pockets of her jeans.
And stars circled comically around her head.
It wasn't that unusual, really. A small show of her gift to entertain her. The stars glowed just barely, causing the string of rhinestones on her pink tank top to catch a bit and reflect. It all made her smile softly. It was true that she got bored easily, but t was more true that she was easily amused.
It didn't take long for her to notice the thin column of pulsating smoke coming from a roof, though. he sight of it, as always, made her smile wider.
She took a single hand out of her pocket, waving it in a sweeping motion in the direction of the building's wall. Stair that obviously hadn't been there before-that didn't even match the bricks of the building, appeared, touching down just feet from where she was still walking forward.
The fingers of the hand she'd waved danced as if playing an imaginary piano as she walked straight up the stairs, appearing on the roof withing moments. Once her feet hit the shingles, her fingers stopped and the stairs disappeared, as did the stars around her head.
"Tommy, Tommy, Tommy..." She sighed, approaching him with a grin on her face. "You don't need to use smoke signals to get me; I have a cell phone."
She pulled a pink treo from her pocket waving it once before replacing it and sitting down beside him.
"What's up? Though you had history." She teased, poking him in the side.

Tomoru heard the sound of footsteps pattering up stairs- stairs that hadn't existed seconds ago. That could only mean one thing, or rather one person. Wait, maybe thing was more accurate. It was Dori after-all. She was far too happy too be entirely human. He turned his head lazily to the side to see the girl better, and simply arched an eyebrow as she waved the phone at him.
"Whatever Dori."
Was all he said, never one for vibrant conversation. He watched her settle down and then closed his eyes again. He was disturbed again by more chirpy words and a poke in the ribs. He reached out reflexivley and wrapped his hand around her wrist, effectively stopping her from jabbing him again. He sighed and then sat up, flashing a crooked grin at the girl.
"Are you insinuating that I, Tomoru Akarui, the ideal image of scholarly student perfection would be skipping class?"
He teased, using his free hand to flick her gently on the leg.

She smiled when he grabbed her hand and pulled her leg away-tucking it under herself-when he thumped it.
"Maybe I am." She smirked. "But then I, Queen of Daydreams, might be imagining you. Any proof you're Tomoru? Besides your holding of my wrist and that thump of my leg."
She couldn't help but smirk at him, her head tilting teasingly.

Tomoru listened to her words and then groaned theatrically at the little speech.
"You're whacked out baby-girl."
He declared, passing a hand across his eyes. He'd been conplaining that he was bored earlier, but if she carried on like that Dori-mu was going to leave him complaining about a head-ache.
"Proof, eh?"
He murmured, raising his eyebrows at the girl. He raised his hand to the level of her face and clicked his fingers once. As it had before, fire sparked into life. The flames grew and twsited themselves into shapes, untill the words 'I AM REAL' burned brightly in the air above his hand.
"Hows that?"

"Hmmmm..."
he watched the flames for a moment, speculating, her lips pursed. She took her sweet time examining it, bringing her hand close enough to feel it's heat, stopping just before she reached the proximity that she knew from experience would burn her.
Her face didn't twist back into her familiar grin until she was sure that she was getting on his nerves just right. And when she did smile, it wasn't all she did.
She ducted under the flame and his hand, half tackling him, as her arms wrapped around his neck.
"Ok," She laughed in his ear, "I believe you!"

He watched her expression, waiting for that grin. He hated waiting, which is why she always pro-longed stupid moments. Just to annoy him. Tomoru rolled his eyes.
"Hey, Dori-"
Whatever he was about to say was left unsaid as the girl suddenly tackled him. His fist clenched and the fire was gone before there was even a chance the girl could get burned. He couldn't help but laugh as she tackled him, arms clamped around his neck.
"Crazy girl."
He laughed, tugging gently on one of the pick locks poking out from under her hat.

She jerked her head in the opposite direction when he pulled her hair, freeing her pink locks of his hands.
"Yeah, and that's why you love me," She smirked, arms still around his neck. They were in a weird position- her halfway on top of him- But that was relatively normal, with her.
She rolled easily off him, though stayed close, their arms touching (She did truly love his warmth).
"It's almost as if you didn't expect it, Hot-head," She giggled, shaking her head mockingly. "Don't you know me, anymore?"

"Yeah, yeah, but then again I'm messed up in the head, which could eaisly be the real reason."
He teased after she'd pulled her hair free. He wasn't too concerned by their position, it was Dori after-all. Glomping people was one of her special talents, and he was used to it. However soon enough she'd rolled back onto the floor. He shot her a sideways glance.
"Hot-head? Hot body more like."
He pointed out, casting his gaze down to where their arms touched. He was used to Dori searching for skin contact, she loved the heat that radiated from him. Like a moth drawn to a flame. Almost literally, with the flame part at least.

"Yeah, I suppose you are pretty hot, aren't you...?" She chuckled, turning and wrapping both her arms around the one of his that was closest and burying her face into it.
"Maybe you're too hot for your own good..." Her voice came out muffled from against his arm, but she didn't move away. She ifted her head a moment later, resting it on his shoulder.
"Good thing I don't care, hmmm?" She teased, grinning mockingly at him. Her eyes watched his face, her inner laughter, as always, showing through them.

He laughed as she burried her face into his arm, she really did love the heat of his skin. He was used to her clinging to his limbs. It was worse in winter, when it was actually cold and his heat was in much more demand. He didn't really mind, it made her happy.
"Yeah, yeah baby-girl, you know you love it."
He returned her wide grin, and shifted slightly to accomodate her new position - where he served as a pillow.
"That's why you can't keep your hands off me."

She rolled her eyes at him.
"Or maybe I can't 'keep my hands off you' because you're real- not a projection, and you let me." She detached a single hand and poked his cheek, only to return it to his arm.
"Any certain reason that you let me?" She asked, smirking again. "Or have you just lost hope of me stopping?"

"I not that mean to deprive you of my hot-ness. I wouldn't be fair"
He said lightly, shooting her a sideways glance.
"Besides, you'd waste away if you couldn't touch me, and when you're not messing with my head, I kinda like having you around. Them reasons enough?"
He detatched his arm from her grip but before she could really protest, he slid it round her shoulders and pulled the girl to his side in a one armed hug.

"Yeah, I suppose that works." She smiled, kissing his cheek teasingly.
"How would I live without your hotness? I mean, sure, I could project a replica of you, but where's the fun in that? He wouldn't be NEARLY as hot as you without heat. Plus, I wouldn't be able to feel your shirtless chest..."
Her grin widened as she trailed a hand over the bare skin of his torso, so light that it was sure to tickle, if not only slightly.

"You're right there baby-girl, there is no substitute for the real thing."
He agreed with a throaty chuckle, watching her trace her fingers over his chest. It was quite ticklish really, but instead of laughing, he shifted his hand and placed it over hers, stopping the girls dancing fingers.
He grinned at her, his dark eyes glittering.
"No tickling, you little monster."
He warned her teasingly.

"Tickling doesn't make me a monster," She said, turning her hand over so it could grip his.
"But I'll show you what does."
There was no mistaking the mischievous grin in her voice. It wasn't hard at all for her to roll over onto his chest, holding his hand away. She grabbed his other hand in her's, as well, pinning both of his above his head. She was laying fairly parallel on top of him, her face barely 2 inches above his.
"Of course, this isn't torturing you, yet..." She murmured, then raised their right hands and brought them down. As soon as they hit the ground, again, a blindfold appeared over his eyes. Her finger were tapping against his knuckles, keeping the blindfold solidified so he couldn't see.
"Tomoru," She said, close enough for him to feel her breath. "Am I a monster?"

Tommy laughed as she suddenly grabbed and pinned his head. Her sudden closeness hardly phased him, he was used to these crazy things and physical contact between the pair was no strange thing. He watched her with amusment, humoured her little game, letting her move his hands around, raise them up and then-
By the time he clicked she was about to do something evil it was far too late to stop her. Their linked hands hit the floor and he was suddenly blindfolded. So she was in the mood for playing games. This wasn't a good thing, not really.
He swore under his breath.
As she leaned closer and whispered the words, he smirked.
"Yes, you are."
He responded easily, and then he moved. He rolled, shifting their positions so that Dori was on the ground and was above her. He held his weight carefully with practised grace so he didn't apply any pressure to the younger girl. Instead, the blindfolded boy just grinned.
"But I'm no angel either baby-girl."
He reminded her, managing to detach one hand, which he used to run over her ribs and tickle her mercilessly.

Dori just smiled at him, until he turned the tables, now on her. When he started tickling her, her fingers stopped drumming and his blindfold disappeared. She bit her lip so others near by wouldn't be alerted that they were on the roof from her laugh and struggled to curl into the area he tickled, her now free hand going to swat unsuccessfully away his hand on her ribs.
"Sorry! Sorry- Stop! Haha! Come- haha- on! Stop!" She gasped, wiggling under him. "Please!"

Tommy just laughed as she began to squeal and wriggle, begging for mercy. That would teach her to blind-fold him, wouldn't it. He ran his fingers over her ribs for a few more seconds before releasing the pink haired girl from the torture. Chuckling, he rolled sideways so he was once more lying on his back next to her. He stayed silent for a few moments, just staring up at the sky.
"I need a smoke."
He declared to the sky, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the packet. He shook out his cancer-stick and tapped it absently against his palm twice before placing it in his mouth. He raised his hand to his mouth and a flame darted from his finger to lit the end.
Tommy inahled deeply and then blew the smoke out again, making sure it went away from Dori. Sure, he had an addiction but he didn't feel the need to force it on other people.
"That's better..."
He breathed.

Dori sighed when he rolled off her- a mixture of relief and regret. That was usual. She wanted him, yes, but there was also some things she didn't want.
"I'm not telling you not to..." She murmured when he lit up. "But I do wish you wouldn't smoke... I know you're careful, and all, but it's still bad for you. I don't want to lose you, yet..."
She turned her head toward him, a small smile on her face.
"Ok, there's my lecture for the day. I told you I'd start to make them short, sweet, and meaningfull!" She waved her arm up toward the sky, the projection of a golden bird appearing. She continued waving her arm in circles, the bird following obidiantly.
