"I'm calling, and now waiting, You're hoping, and delaying. We're not ready yet, though the stage is set, For us to live how we always wanted." Harmony's voice carried easily around the courtyard, mixing easily and purely with the sound of her guitar. A few people were milling around, sitting against trees, basking in the sun as they listened. Harmony often had these little mini-concerts for her peers in the courtyard, those she was rather sporadic about when she had them. Sometimes she'd plan them, just to try out a new song on the mini-masses, and sometimes she'd need to vent. Sometimes she was too happy not to sing and play her guitar, and sometimes she just got bored. In this occasion, she had just finished her work for the day and couldn't stand not being outside, serenading the courtyard as the sun warmed it. It was rare that it would be so bright and warm, this time of year, but Harmony knew better than to mention this in a school where SOMEONE was sure to be able to change the weather at will. "You knew you'd always be with me, But then you never really could see, You're my light, My driving force, My reason to live, the reason I give. Now listen close and listen clear, the end is surely drawing near. We're mixing it up, and living large, You make my heart thud, like it's over charged.
"I'm calling, and now waiting, You're hoping, and delaying. We're not ready yet, though the stage is set, For us to live how we always wanted."

The fresh breeze played across his face, prising apart the locks of hair and trying to open his eyelids. It was cool but firm, and abruptly his eyes snapped open. Sparkling blue eyes flashed around the courtyard from his high vantage point, seeking out the male that looked near on exactly the same as him. Ryan was one of those people that loved to bug him when he was sleeping. It was rather funny actually, because when they were together, they looked like twins. Both with floppy blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes and a wicked sense of humour. But his not-so-brother wasn't here, and confusion knitted his eyesbrows together. For once, words did not fly to his lips. He wasn't going to hurt anybody.
Dengon stretched, the tree he was laying in crumpling up the faded blue jeans he wore. His arms stretched out afterwards, the long sleeved white sweater stretching gently to accomodate the muscles that stretched out beneath his skin. He had previously fallen in to a trance like rest, due to his whole, not sleeping issue. There was a story behind that one. He didnt like to sleep because when he did, he sleep talked and then bad things happened. Since his magic was all about words, sleep-talking wasnt his best idea. Jumping siftly out of the tree, he landed just at the moment that the freaky-girl-with-her-music-and-guitar started to sing. And for once, Dengon actually listened.
"Thats a beautiful song you know..."
He commented, his accent heavily laden with the English tongue. She was young, perhaps only just come to the school at fiftheen. She had wavey blond hair and she looked a little bit like a pixie. A small, crooked smile flickered over his lips as he sat down on the floor, his cocked to the side as he gazed from her to her guitar and back again. His blue eyes twinkled gently in the muggy day, intellegent but wary.

Harmony glanced up when a boy dropped from a near by tree and sat down. She smiled, her fingers still dancing over the strings of her guitar. She was almost embarrassed. No one ever seemed to notice her music around here, any more.
"You think so?" She smiled, the song coming to a gentle end. She let her grip on the instrument relax, slightly. "I just wrote it today... It's not quite finished, yet."
She couldn't help but notice how musical his accent sounded. So sure and deliberate... She blinked once, and started strumming lightly to distract the music-craving part of her mind. No need to oggle the accents.

The startled expression on the young girls face allowed a smile to flicker over the english boys face. He and Ryan were oddities in the school, he with his English accent and Ryan with his Irish. It always made him laugh to speak to the other, considering the fact that they were all the same. A small, husky chuckle escaped him as she spoke.
"Well then, you must be really good at composing then, because that is a really good song!"
It was at the precise moment that a barking laugh escaped one of the people around the courtyard. For a moment, annoyence crossed in his sparkling blue eyes. He wasn't trying to get with this girl, she seemed more like little-sister material. But her music was so beautiful that it seemed unfair for the people of the courtyard to interupt it with their crude laughter.
Gilles-Hael
The word slipped forward from his lips, the word wrapping a bubble around them. The word meant silence, but he had wrapped it around them in a way that would stop any noise from coming in, instead of them being silence. It was, as he had made it, completely silent in the bubble and he turned back to the young girl with a grin.
"Is that any better for you?"
He asked, mellodic tones now the only sound in the bubble of silence. His eyes gazed at the girl, eyes flickering down to her face with a gently, encouraging grin.

Harmony smiled again at his complement.
"Well, my insignia says I'm supposed to be great at music," She chuckled, glancing down at the green-glowing tattoo. When he muttered the words and it became silent, she flinched.
"Actually... not really." It was too quiet. No sound to interpret. No rhythm to tap to. No unseen melodies to entice. It was... silent. Her fingers started playing on the guitar to fill the void, trying to keep her concentrated, if only slightly.
"Sorry, I need music to focus. Just one of many flaws in my gift." Her smile became apologetic. She just hoped it wouldn't seem rude, to him.

It was easy to talk to this younger girl, and though Dengon felt nothing but companionship for her, her company was beginning to become enjoyable. A smile laced his lips as she spoke about her Insignia, the smallest of chucklest escaping him as he leant back, resting his body weight on his hands. He legs were crossed in front of, the material stretched over his powerful leg muscles. The long-sleeved white sweater he was wearing had been rolled up to reveal brown, muscled arms. For a moment, he felt completely exposed, leaning back from this freshman. And then it struck him, for one split second. Why on earth was he talking to a Freshman?
"My Insignia is a little bit creative. It litterally means Word Magic... but words means different things to different people, so it is more like the manipulation of words as magic. So I could say one thing and have a completely different intent to the word and it would come out different... Simple?"
He spoke quickly and surely, the twinkle returning to his eyes. When she spoke about how the silence didn't exactly help, he rolled his eyes but gave a chuckle to let her know it was alright. He paused for a split second, composing the words in his head, before he set them loose. Gilles-Hael Kita. At once, the noise and calamity was returned, and once again Dengon gave a small chuckle. If she needed all of this for inspiration, then he wasn't going to stop her.
"I'm sorry about that Harmony. So, have you only just arrived at Athena?"
He asked, wondering how long the little girl had been here. She was clearly a freshman, and therefore likely to be 14 or 15 years old, depending on the cutoff point. Still, she may have been here for a while, and he had only just recognised her as the Freaky-Girl-Who-Always-Plays-Guitar-In-The-CourtyardTM. Shaking his head softly, he gazed up at her, thinking about what on earth his brother was up to. Most likely a loud of trouble, but that was what Ryan was like.

Harmony chuckled when he explained his own insignia. It probably was sad that she found descriptions so poetic, and poetic things so musical (and his accent didn't help that train of thought). When the sound returned, she visibly relaxed, the chords coming from her guitar becoming quieter.
His question about how long she'd been at Athena was something she'd grown used to. She and her roommate were both short for their ages and quite obviously freshman. She shrugged, glancing down at her guitar for a moment. The short semester, so far, seemed to have spanned long enough that the school felt like her home- which it pretty much was.
"I came when the rest of my class did." She stated. "At the beginning of this school year. Well... maybe a week or so before, but not much longer than that. I guess I'm fairly new."
She looked back up at him with a small smile still on her face. Hey, she was just one girl; and who could resist smiling in the presence of someone with an accent like his? Ok, the fact he was cute and older than her (which made her wonder why he'd chosen to talk to her) might have played into it, a bit. But hey, cute and sexy accent was VERY smile-making.
"How long have you been here?" She raised an eyebrow, teasing him a bit. Yes, it was quite obvious that he'd been here for a while, but that didn't mean she couldn't tease him a bit for asking her when she'd clearly just come.
((Yes, I did steal 'smile-making' from a bit of the ugly-pretty-specials-extras series. So sue me... Wait, on second thought, don't. It's just fun to say, ok?))
