The twins had long since learnt the religious eductation was a waste of time. Neither cared to much about how religion affected attitudes, and how people responded to eachother. Neither did they care to learn about the different Gods and ideals of perfection. They weren't going to get into any heaven offered, they'd seen their fate. Besides, everytime the subject of 'Hell' was broached, all eyes turned towards the pair, but nobody ever had the balls to ask questions. It had been amusing at first, but that amusment soon wore off. At first they'd attended the lessons, and simply amused themselves with card games or other such trivilaities. Then they decided that was not entertaining enough.
So at some point Taira marched right up to their teacher and stated the facts. Kuro had stood behind her with a steely expression, nodding along occasionally. They would not be attending the class anymore. The teacher had stumbled out arguments, which Taira had batted away easily. After a few feebles attempts, the teacher had submitted. Taira had smiled, and ever since that sophmore year they hadn't taken the subject.
Of course now they were left with time to fill. Recently Taira ahd spent these hours down in the basements of the Hive, while Kuro hovered around to keep an eye on her. However today, he hadn't been subjected to that as Taira decided she wanted a lazy day. So Kuro had ended up sitting on her bedroom floor humming softly while she lay silently on the bed.
"Kuro..." "Mhmm?" "I'm still not sleepy."
Kuro closed his eyes and sighed softly. She was in one of those moods. She'd spent the last half an hour with her eyes closed, listening to him hum the lullaby trying to force her body to sleep. It was the one fight she could never win, and she knew this. It frustrated her with it's absolute truth, which was probabbly why she kept the war going. There was a moments silence and then she rolled off the bed and landed lightly on the floor next to him.
"It's not fair."
She announced, like a sulky child. A sidelong glance showed Kuro her pouting expression, and he bit back a smile. Instead, he extended an arm towards her.
"We can be sleepless together, yeah?"
Slightly mollified, the girl shifted closer and he wrapped his arm around her, tucking her to his side in a one armed embrace. He loved his sister being feirce and terrfying and intimidating, it made him smile and feel proud of her. But she had her softer moments aswell, which helped remind him that they were still partly human, which was a good thing to keep in mind with an insignia like Kuro's...
OOC:
open for anyone, and be grateful people, Taira is being calm! Heads won't roll, or be chewed off simply becuase you knocked on the door. You lucky things!

Free periods weren't unusual, for Venus. Most of the classes offered at Athena Academy were very visual-based. She attended a few classes, but mostly got extra verbal tutoring after other's classes, and the few she actually had, were over at the end of the day, and on weekends. She was used to it, but it didn't stop her from getting easily bored. She wandered the grounds and the halls, trying to find some way to entertain herself. She'd already memorized how many steps it was from the lake to the front office, then to the gym, then guys dorm and Dining hall, when she finally got to the girls dorm. She'd reached five thousand-eight hundred-fifty seven when her heels echoed back and told her she'd reached the door, her hand reaching out to grip the handle and pull it open.
She sighed, once inside. Surely there was someone in the dorm, somewhere. She walked to a wall and put her hand to it, using her other fist to knock hard three times. Sure enough, Taira seemed to be in her room. Her brother was present, but that was fine. She was sure that he had no reason to have anything against her.
She let her hand glide against the wall as she made her way up to her friend's room, loving the smooth texture of it. Finally, she reached the Hell-child's door.
She knocked twice, paused, then three more times. Once more, her fist made contact with the door, then she lowered it, knowing Tai would be able to know she was safe. It was just one of the things being in the Hive had started in her. Everyone from the tunnels knew her knock and that she knew they were there, already. It also meant that they didn't have to worry that they were being sent a bad message from Hebi. That knock was quite different.
((Ick! That sucks. I can't help feeling I babbled... I know! I'll blame the meds! =D (And I figured Venus would like a few friends...)))

OOC: T'is okay. I don't mind Venus having a few friends. Though it's pretty damn hard to label our favourite bitch as you friend! Bless her little demoness socks.
BiC:
Kuro's head tilted slightly as he detected footsteps in the hall. His keen hearing had alerted him to the door opening, and his first instincts were to identify the person, in case it was a threat. Or Ashi. Ashi couldn't be classed as a threat to Kuro, but he was certainly annoying and Kuro would be interested to know what the boy was doing approaching his sisters room. Taira hardly moved, though they could both hear the padding of feet. Kuro glance down at Taira as they heard the familair knock. Her brown eyes met his golden ones, a considering gaze passed between them.
Are we in?
Kuro asked silently, his expression saying the words for him. They both knew that Venus knew they were in, but if they ignored her she would take the hint and leave. Kuro personally had no objection to the girl, apart from the fact that she was in the Hive, so the desicion fell to his sister. She considered the idea for a moment, and then nodded her head. Kuro removed his arm, and the girl climbed to her feet in a fluid movement. She crossed the room and opened the door, regarding the blind girl stood before her.
"Hey Venus."
She said, standing aside for the girl to walk in. Kuro watched her from the floor, saying nothing for the moment. Taira didn't offer to guide the other girl in, knowing that Venus was more than capable of such a feat and didn't need to be patronised.
"What's up?"
She asked, curious to why Venus was wandering around the dorms, and more to the point why she was knocking for Taira. Not that the brunette objected to the presence, she just wanted to know why.

((Taira the bitch has friends, and Hebi the mega-war-waging bitch has friends. Everyone needs someone ^.^))
"Nothing much," Venus said, walking in and plopping down on Taira's bed. It was oddly comforting, for Venus, to be n the presence of these twins. Taira, she knew, was on the same side as her, so that gave them easy common ground, and Kuro had never given her a true reason to plot against him. As far as Venus was concerned Kuro was one of them, but still a threat. Either way, neither she nor him had ever shown anything but respect for each other- though Venus suspected that that was because, at first, he didn't think of her as a threat because of her blindness. It didn't matter to her, now, though; he knew that there were people in the Hive only around to keep her and a few other members safe. He wouldn't dare.
"I had a free block, so I was roaming, counting steps, all that crap. When I got to the girls dorm I felt you guys here so... I came. I assure you, this is no more than a social visit out of blind-boredom. Kay?" She smiled, her cloudy eyes wide as her face turned from the direction she heard Taira's breaths coming from to where she heard Kuro's, her expression innocent enough.

Taira pushed the door shut once her friend had entered, watching her make the way to Taira's bed. She glared at the bed for a moment, as it represented the war she raged on sleep. Now the War-child was sat there. Taira didn't miss the irony of it. She said nothing, though she caught Kuro's knowing glance and the slight smirk on his lips. She moved back to his side, thumping him on the arm before sitting down and leaning against his side. Kuro gave a soft laugh, and wrapped his arm around her.
"Oh, okay."
Taira said, as she arranged herself into a comfortable position against her brothers side. Kuro glanced at Venus, silently grateful that she hadn't arrived to summon them at Hebi's disposal. He wasn't in the mood for lurking in the basement, and Hebi's subtle threats annoyed him. She was very small and breakable to be making such threats, and even though Kuro didn't challenge her, he often had to fight the temptation to.
"So Venus, done anything interesting recently?"
Kuro asked to break the silence. He rarely spoke to the girl, but then again he rarely spoke to anyone. He avoided breakable comany most of the time, he left socialising to his sister while he served as a body-gaurd. Kuro was the perfect embodiment of the 'strong and silent' type. Taira rolled her eyes and gave a soft laugh at his attempt to strike up conversation.
"Yeah, spill. I want to hear about the scandals! Met anyone interesting, got up to anything you shouldn't have? Spill all. Oh, don't worry about Ku, he's not really into gossip. Secret's safe and all that!"
She added onto the end of his words with a laugh.

Venus heard the soft thud when Taira thumped Kuro, and couldn't help but to smile. It was always interesting to be around these two.
"I haven't really heard too much. A few minor things, maybe. But no one really says much to me. They think I'll find a way to use their petty problems against them- the idiots. I did meet one guy, recently, but it wasn't much. He was ok, but thought I needed more help than someone with no legs. He liked to conjure lollipops, though, apparently. Not very interesting, I know, but hey; what can you do? It's a dark and boring world out there."
She smiled sheepishly, shaking her head so her blond hair fell in front of her face uselessly.
"Oh! I did here one thing. And this better not leave this room, for now." She added, leaning forward as her grin widened. "Apparently, Luna's found out that she has a sister, here at Athena Academy. A twin. And not just someone who can change their appearance, either."

"Lollipops, huh? What is he, a Willy Wonka Wannabe?"
Taira scoffed, her tones mocking. Kuro gave a low laugh at his sisters obvious disgust. She had this thing about candy, possibly due to the romantic connatations it held. She never really did explain it. However it soon became apparant that such an action had suddenly lost this mysterious male all respect in Taira's eyes. Kuro had to bite back another laugh. This guy was very lucky he was mysterious, otherwise he'd just happen to walk past Taira and she'd attack him. Verbally or physically, depending on her mood.
Now, Kuro could never understand what it was about gossip that fascinated girls. How could they sit there, chattering on about pointless tibits of information, anaylizing and critizing. He never really had the patience for it, but that didn't stop Taira telling him. However, as Venus dropped her bomshell, Kuro's head whipped round to her, and then he turned to stare at Taira. In that uncanny way they had sometimes, she'd done the exact same thing. They stared at eachother for a moment, eyes wide.
"No?!"
They both exlaimed with a laugh. Taira slapped his arm again, apparantly for no other reason than the suprise of it.
"Tell us everything!"
Taira exlaimed, nuding Venus gently, her tones still carrying a trace of suprise in it. Kuro just watched and waited, still fairly stunned. Moon-girl had a twin?

Venus grinned at the twin's reaction, then leaned back on the bed, propping herself up with her elbows.
"I don't know much, but the girl's not in the Hive." Venus said. "I know she's blond and that she's fairly opposite of our Luna. Like's the sun instead of the moon. Tsuki wouldn't tell me much, but it sounds like they're suddenly very close. Luna's not in the tunnels as much, anymore. And her new wooden training cross is barely battered. It's really quite odd. Haven't you noticed that she seems to have changed? Like she's happier?"

As Venus asked her question about Luna's happiness, both Kuro and Taira paused, casting their memories back to their recent encounters with the girl.
"Yes!" "No..."
They spoke at the same time once more, as they had a habit of doing. Taira rolled her eyes as Kuro denied the comment, waving it aside with a sigh.
"That's because you never pay attention."
She observed, and Kuro shrugged, making a noise of agreement. it was true, he rarely did pay attention. He noted their proximity, and their hostility levels and how likely they were to try and kill his sister, but apart from that... They could be leaping for joy or crying in the corner. He wasn't too concerned.
"This is so wierd! I can't beleive she has a twin-" "-and she didn't even know about it..."
Kuro finished for her, and then they both trailed off into a moments silence. They couldn't imagine not having eachother, it was just an impossible thing. How could they not be together? They were two of the same, a matching set. It seemed wrong just to consider the idea. Kuro tightened his arm slightly, tucking Taira closer to his body.
"It must have been a shock..."
Taira mused.

"Yep," Venus nodded. "Luna described it as being some sort of explosion, whatever that means. I think she's probably exaggerating, but who know? Besides her and her sister, that is."
Venus thought for a moment about what Luna had told her about her passed, then shuddered.
"I think they were separated at birth." The goddess-named girl said thoughtfully. "I know that Tsuki was adopted... I think she's been in the system since she was a baby. Not really sure why. I thin the twin was adopted, too, but I can't be all too sure."
Something else struck her memory, then.
"Do guys find it weird that they're bother Marked? I mean, I know you two both are, but you were of Hell. They're just... Twins. That doesn't usually happen. Siblings aren't usually marked unless there's something special about them... What do you think?"

Seperated at birth.
The simple phrase sent a shudder through the twins. It just seemed so bleak, so empty. Being half of one whole, without even understanding you were missing something. It was just... wrong. So wrong. Who on earth could do that? Rip two souls apart before they had time to understand...
Taira caught her brothers hand, and flipped it over so she could see his wrist. He didn't resist her, just watched as she placed her own insignia over his. He guessed she was testing out the theory of the explosion. Leaning forward he murmured into her ear, his words inaudiable to anybody but her.
"We've never been seperated."
She nodded slowly, but caught his hand and slipped her fingers through his. He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, noting how upset the idea had got her. He turned his attention towards Venus's theory.
"I don't know... We're probabbly not the ones to base that theory on though, seeing how we're a different species and all..."
He said in low tones, a slight frown on his face. Taira stayed silent, simply considering the possibilites.

"That's why I don't get it." Venus murmured. "With siblings, it's rare to have more than one marked with in a family unless there's some outside interference. Wit you guys, that would be the whole not-being-human, thing. You would have been gifted without the mark, it just gave you a better chance. But other than that, most mark's have no immediate history of being marked, in their family. Tsuki never showed any sign of being anything but a marked human.
"She got into the Hive because Hebi and Wraith liked her power. But she was never truly exceptional. If anything, she's Marked, but flawed. She'd really only powerful once, maybe twice a month. She might as well be human.
"But then... Her sister comes along. Suddenly Tsuki isn't moping or hiding out in the tunnels. She's no longer focusing on her physical training, even though it used to be her strongest point. She seems to think she has too much power; as if she had to learn to control it. She's one of the lowest level Hive members, but she acts as though she knows more about the attack then Hebi, Wraith or I do."
Venus shook her head, none of the facts making any sense at all. Her voice was harsh, critical, calculating, and almost confused.
"She shouldn't ave any really significance at all, besides being another supporter, another solder to attack. But she has a sister. A twin sister. And they're both marked. It can't be true- it shouldn't be true -but it is."
Venus sat up, her face facing Kuro and Taira directly, as if her eyes would be boring holes in them intently, if she could see.
"It's not right," She murmured, softer now. "They shouldn't be, and yet they are. I've considered every aspect of everyone's place in the Hive, by Hebi's orders. But now Tsuki's throwing it all out of whack. Something's not right about or friend and her twin's passed, and I need to know. We need to know. I might be over reacting, but human twins just don't both get marked unless they're special. Will you guys help me find out what's so special about these twins? I'll probably need the help of someone who can see."
She smiled mischievously. Somehow, in her mind, Tsuki and her twin became a battle she had to win. The knowledge of them becoming a prize to be sought. She knew she needed help- she would never deny it, in cases such as this -the only question was how powerful her help would be. To her, Taira and Kuro were her best bet. Twins, themselves, and some of the strongest Markeds Venus had ever come across. She and Taira were both high enough in rank that they had every right to find something like this out, especially when it involved someone of as low a rank as Tsuki. It made sense. It was clear.
And plus, she'd wasted all that time thinking aloud with them in front of her; there was no way she'd be able to keep them out of it. She might as well make use of her friend and her brother.

Taira and Kuro sat very still while Venus spoke. Kuro kept his eyes on their intertwined hands, a slight crease in his brow as the girl spoke. Taira's gaze rested on the milky eyed blonde, her thoughts racing as she absorbed the words. Neither twin interrupted Venus's speech, instead just focused on the logic of it all. Taira noted the difference in the girl as well. She'd gone from reclusive and dosed with what Taira liked to call 'puppy syndrome' to acting aloof and secretive. And she was more powerful now, she'd got good at hiding the increase in power but it was still faintly detectable.
"There is something going on, but then again there are those other twins. Robbin and Ribbon or something. They aren't exceedingly special, just a telekentic and a teleporter. So, maybe it's not that their twins..."
She mused aloud, recalling up her memories of the other twins. There was nothing paticularly spectacular about them from what Taira could see, but they were still twins and they were still Marked. If Venus's theories were true did that mean they were to be something great and spectacular? Or was it just a coincedence? Was it even significant? Taira didn't know, but she was going to find out.
"Oh yes, this needs some invesitgation."
Taira declared, and glanced up towards Kuro. He shifted his gaze to hers and after a moments pause, nodded his head slightly. Taira smiled.
"We're in."
She announced.

"Excellent." The word came out as a hiss from between the war-child's lips, her mouth curling into a devious grin.
"I guess we should start planning, then," She said, excitement coloring her voice. Her insignia began glowing at the thought. She sat for a moment, ordering her thoughts, before speaking.
"Tai," She said, addressing her friend. "I know how fast you are. Perhaps you could try following Our Lunar friend to one of her meetings with her sister? Find out what you can about them that way."
"Kuro," She said next, her head moving the slightest bit toward the boy. "You think you can dig up their school files? Maybe track Tsuki's adoption records back and see if you can't find out who her parents were? Maybe even her sister's records? Anything like that might help."

"Sure I'll follow her. Technically, Kuro's faster but at least if I get caught -which is highly unlikely- I can use the excuse that Tsuki's actually my friend. Besides, if she feels the need to challenge me, I'll snap her like a twig. I'm sure Hebi won't mind..."
Kuro and Taira both gave a short bark of laughter, the difference in the two sounds notably contrasting but they way they mixed together was a suprsingly pleasent harmony. It would be very easy for Taira to follow them, and even though her human form was her favourite, she could take any image she chose and could be nothing more than a hovering moth.
"Sure, I'll check the files. Do you know her sisters name?"
Kuro asked quietly. It would be very easy to scan the files, especially with his super-speed.It wouldn't take long, and tracking people would be easy. He'd do the paperwork, while Taira did the feild work. Tsuki was no threat. As for her sister... Well, Taira was faster, stronger and far more adapatable than any opponent she had faced so far. She'd survive, and if she was in trouble he'd be there in a moment. It would be fine.
"Y'know, we should get blondie to help."
He suddenly added, and Taira blinked at him in confusion, and then she understood. A smile spread across her face.
"Mimi. All the gadjets she builds. What's a nano-tracker to that girl? I'll get her the parts, she won't ask questions. We could even bug her cell phone. Do you think you'd be able to seperate Tsuki from that necklace she always wears?"
Taira asked, an idea forming.

Mimi? Now there's an idea. Her sills could definitely come in handy. How Venus didn't think of the perky little engineer herself, she had no clue.
"It's possible." Venus said slowly to Taira's comment about Tsuki's necklace. She and the moon-girl were roommates, after all. "I might be able to slip it off her when she's sleeping, sometime... But I can't be sure. She doesn't always like to spend the night in the dorm. I might be able to get it at the next new moon. You think you can do whatever your planing in the middle of the night, before she can wake up?"
She raised an eyebrow; it was an interesting idea, that was for sure.

It may not be tatoo'd on her wrist, but Taira knew how to scheme. Her brother watched as her eyes gleamed, her mind whirring as she thought out her half-formed plan. A single night? No; less than a night. It would have to be very efficent. Well planned and pulled off to perfection. There would be no room for error, but... It could be done.
"Yeah, I think it would work."
She said slowly after a moments deliberation.
"Well here's my thinking. Yes, I can track Tsuki. I can follow her all over campus, but I can't be there all the time, can I? I'm thinking, we get a device in her necklace. Advanced technology, that's where Mimi comes. A tracker, with a microphone and even a camera in it. That way we'll be able to know where she is, who she's talking to and even what she's doing for it. It would ahve to be very small... But I'm sure one of those diamonds could hide a camera. Maybe even all of them. What do you think?"

Venus chewed over her friends plan for a moment, her insignia flashing.
"I think that could work." She said, nodding. "How much do you think we should tell Mimi? Do you think we can trust her to keep this a secret? She'd probably be easily able to tell that something's up when you have her bug Tsuki's necklace. It's not that hard to mistake."

Taira smiled, or rather smirked. Quite like a cat in fact. It was easy to remember that she could assume that form when she chose to.
"Oh I say we tell her. And I know the perfect way to get her on our side..."
She glanced between Venus and Kuro for a moment, deciding when she should drop the metahaphorical bomb she was cradeling.
"It's quite simple really... We simply tell Mimi exactly where Tsuki's affections lie..."
She said, a rather cruel laugh slipping out from her lips. She hadn't broken her word, she hadn't told Kuro anything. She'd simply brought up the topic in a conversation with Venus. If her brother happened to hear, and figure out what she meant, that didn't mean she'd told him. Taira had a skill with side-stepping promises...

Venus's eyes blinked uselessly at Taira's words. It wasn't someething she would have done, but then, this was Taira. What did she care about keeping trust? It made sense, though. As long as Venus wasn't the one to spill the secret, she was fine with it.
"That's devious," She commented, a smirk of her own growing. "I like it! You've been paying attention in the General Strategy meetings, haven't you?" She accused lightly. It was probably odd how such manipulations warmed the blind girl's heart.
