The hall was loud, and crowded. Usually, Venus was able to avoid this, but sometimes- just sometimes -it was inevitable. Sometimes they were right outside her history class. Her one class that didn't have more then one door out.
She sighed. The only way to win the battle with this crowd and make it to the courtyard for her free period was to brave the crowd. She just needed to keep to the walls.
Her fingertips skimmed the smooth painted stone of the halls walls easily, grateful that there were no lockers on the bottom floor. She was able to easily avoid certain obstacles, with all the vibrations set out from the students in the crowded halls. It almost made the blind girls smile. No one seemed to be taking a second glance at her or noticing her clouded eyes.
She stepped over one kid, sitting on the ground, and a few abandoned backpacks, now halfway to the exit. She could almost feel the sun on her face...

Once again another terribly loud day. His worst enemy. He liked quiet days, that's why he woke up so early to hang out and read a book by the fireplace in that one room -who's name escapes him- were it was dim and silent. The weather outside was a little brisk, so he was wearing a T-shirt, with tan pants and the lightest scarf he could find.
The leafy Autumn color brushed passed everyone as he curved through the groups of huddled kids in the halls. He had almost reached the door when some wise-cracking dumb-ass of a freshman bumped him in the back; making him stumble on a lone backpack and trip over something. Being the trickster in the school, everyone darted out of the halls as fast as they could when he'd gotten back up. It wasn't easy making friends that way. It was like going up to someone and saying: "Hi, I can make you so confused you'll commit suicide...wanna be my friend?" And watching them run away.
That's how life was being Akkei. But right now, after tripping and falling on something, he found out that it was someone.
"Oh my, I'm terribly sorry about that. Are you alright?!"
He held out a hand after getting up and smiled weakly, hoping he didn't hurt the girl.

Of course it wasn't going to be easy. Venus was a fool to think she could slip ou without fault.
Mistake numero uno.
"Ah!" She gasped as someone she'd somehow missed fell, pulling her down under them. Her fingers lost contact with the wall, blinding her further as they plummeted. The other person- male, by the sound of his voice -seemed to take it upon himself to wait to get up, then try apologizing.
"If you want to help a blind girl up, you gotta do more then hold a hand out..." She said, holding her own up, not far- but still not close- from his. She turned her face toward him so he could see her cloudy eyes. Her other hand lingered on the the ground, tapping her pinky and trying to establish a base of where the wall was.

"I'm really sorry!"
He reached down and pressed the palm of his right hand on her back, and locked his left hand fingers in hers. He pulled her up easily, and pressed his hand -holding hers' still- on the wall, giving her back the sense of direction.
He'd had this issue before, his cousin was blind, and he'd always needed help when he got bumped away from certain things...until he died, he kept repeating: "I'm blind, not helpless," to him, but he never listened, just helped him when he needed it and left him when he wanted to be left alone.
"Going outside?"
He held the door open, ready to place a hand out to help her. What, with the gap between the wall and the door.

Venus really did hate when people assumed she needed more help then she really did, but she tried to ignore it, putting on a thankful facade.
"Thanks, and yes, but I can make it. The hall's cleared out." And it had. Her heels clicked with each step and, when she ran out of wall, She clicked her tongue once loudly, the echo giving her a good image of her path and the guy who knocked her down but helped her up. She walked confidently, the clip of her heels helping what she'd missed, before.
"So, do you always knock the defenseless down?" She asked, turning her head the slightest bit back to him once she'd gotten past the door. "Or am I just that special?"

"sorry, cousin was the same, I miss him too much..."
He dazed off, looking out at a couple brushes of trees farther in the distance, but he snapped his head back to her astronomical question.
"Hmm, Hey wait a minute, I didn't mean to trip over you at all. I was planning to get outside but those,"
He cussed under his breath lightly.
"Freshman, hit me by accident. I wouldn't even have met you if it weren't so."
He grumbled and took out a random card from his back pocket.
"Hmm, sight....that's an old one. Care to test it out?"
He held the card out to the girl so that she could somewhat examine it. This was an extremely old card that'd he'd usually keep to the back of the deck. Must have switched the deck by accident.
Any who, this card would give you sight for a distinguished time period. This is the only one card that he learned how to stretch the time with. Since she was...blind...he wanted her to see for even a few seconds. Knew her or not, he'd help out in any way possible. All with a smile.

Venus turned to face the boy completely.
"You... You don't even know my name... And you want me to try some spell? I don't think so. I'm blind, not an idiot." She said, her face emotionless, her voice nearly dead. "I've lived this long without my damned eyes working, and I can see fine without them."
She clicked her tongue once loudly.
"Nice smile, by the way." She just stared at him, then- or would have, had her eyes not been clouded. She wondered how he would take this; it wasn't exactly something most would refuse. But she'd been born blind. It was her insignia. She didn't miss sight. You can't really miss something if you'd never had it.

"I thought you'd say that."
He laughed melody wise, and pulled out his favorite card of all. Sweet card!
"Kassei"
He mumbled softly under his breath, still chuckling a bit, and a sucker popped into his hand. He stuck the grape thing in his mouth and walked out, standing next the the girl once more.
"Soo, what is your name then? I'm Akkei...call me Tricky, or Trickster if you'd like."

"Trick sounds better," She smiled. "My name's Venus. Like the goddess. I was named after Venus, the goddess of love, and Minerva, the goddess of war. War's kinda my thing."
She smiled to herself, again, beginning to follow the sidewalk toward the courtyard, her steps echoing helpfully around her.

"M' kay...Nice to meet you Venus. Nice name...Better than mine I guess."
He took the pop out of his mouth and crunched on it.
"Mmm, yummy."
He laughed to himself, taking a stride behind Venus.
((lol, Robert actually says Yummy! in an interview XD after Kristen wipes something from his lip, to his shirt XD))

((Lol))
"Thanks," She said, turning her head toward him slightly so he could see her smile.
"Lollipop, right?" She guessed, raising an eyebrow. "Got any more?"

"Your welcome."
He returned a dazzling smile, and reached to his back pocket.
"Grape, green apple, cherry...or any one of your choosing. I love that card...It never dies off"
He smiled again, fanning out the cards so she could smell them. They all had the scent of their flavor. Many times he took them out as air fresheners, or just to smell one when he was bored.

"Ooh, Green apple please," She said, pointing in the quite general direction of the card.
"So, what is your power, exactly?" She asked as she waited, grateful for the extra aid from his steps.

"Here you are miss Venus!"
He handed her the green apple lollipop after saying the magic word, and took out his own whole one, to answer her followed up question.
"It's nothing actually fascinating. I'm a trickster...a joker if you will. I'm able to mess with your mind, or as you saw...heard, Use magic cards for uses. One time a made a guy so confused...No...N-never mind. Forget it Venus."
He chuckled wryly, a bead of sweat trickling down his neck.

Venus listened intently as they walked. She'd taken the lollipop and was sucking on it, memorizing the shape before it could dissolve in her mouth.
"That's cool," She nodded. "I'm a war strategist." She stated. "I have a love for strategy and concurring, though it's pretty useless. You can't really rule if you can't see. I was named after the Roman goddesses of Love, and War and Wisdom." She shrugged. "Not that great, I suppose."

"It sounds very cool to me..."
He flashed a smile and swapped the pop to the other cheek.
((sorry it's so short, i didn't have my motivational music on at the moment <^^;>))
