He rubbed his blackened eyes, and sprawled out on the bed. Groaning quietly, he shoved his face in the pillow, cussing under his breath.
"Why...can't I sleep?!"
He asked himself over and over again. Glancing at the clock, it read 10:20 p.m, the red glowing getting on his nerves; he flipped it under his bed for one less distraction. Ashi flipped back over, so that he was lying on his back, and looked up at the blank ceiling, twiddling his fingers to make something easier. Although he didn't know what.
He wondered how others in the school fell asleep so easily. He had always had a hard time doing it. Except that one time, which he refused to tell over again. Was it the nightmares that made him think he couldn't stay asleep for more than five minutes? Or was it just because he didn't want to sleep, enough? Either way, he was as tired as a kid would be after a 300 mile race. No breaks.
"Come on Ash...sleep!"
He chanted to himself about three times; the last time he threw his hands into the air and groaned again. This time in aggravation. Could ANYTHING[/b] make this kid sleep?

((I'm claiming this thread as Taira/Ash!))
Taira was having a trainwreck of a day. She wanted to kill somebody she really did. All this attitude and fighting, recruits complaining and questioning and needing to be put back in their place. Then that hyperactive gadet girl had got ahold of her cell-phone and taken it apart. Not that Taira minded the upgrade, but she didn't like ehr stuff being tampered with. Now this!
She snarled something in dark, angry tones and snapped her new and improved cellphone shut. She couldn't beleive he'd said that. Of all the stupid, selfish and ungrateful things for him to do. She was so angry right now, she was almost shaking. She snarled and hissed in the demon tongue she was born to scream in. She knew she had to calm down, but she couldn't. Not right now.
Instead she stormed down the halls, heels clicking angrily with every step. She didn't even know where she was going. Oh yes she did, she was going to tear the face off her brother and throw him out of a window. A wicked smirk was on her lips as she let her violent imagination run wild for a moment, but was shaken out of those rather sadistic daydreams by the sound of a familiar voice. She froze, and her head turned to one side, studying the door suddenly at her side. Her expression changed, and she sighed heavily.
She'd tear her brothers face off later...
Taira turned, and threw the door in question open. She stepped inside and closed it again, hands resting on her hips and one eyebrow rasied as she appraised the male on the bed.
"How long since you last slept Chuckles?"
She demanded, her tones tight and tense with a mixture of concern and the traces of the anger that had consumed her.

Ashi had heard the footsteps, and knew who it was, but didn't bother to interrupt his pissed off love. Wasn't worth the scratches and bruises. But when the sudden burst of light from the hallway leaked into his room, he groaned and leaned the back of his head on his black wall. When he heard a velvet voice echo through his room, he opened his eyes slightly, too see the darkness again.
His eyes glowed golden with pleasure at the girl, but went back to their original coloring in the same instant it came.
"I slept fine yesterday night. Nothing's bothering me. I can;t see why I'm not sleeping right. It's bugging me and I need--no, want it. Maybe,"
He thought for only just a moment and shook his head, placing his hand on his eyes. The one thing he could have remember....and he forgot. He wasn't used to people barging into the empty room, so he was shirtless. All he had was his black khaki sweats on. Boy did he think he was an idiot!
"Sorry, let me find one. My room's just a bit hotter than I planned it to be. And I'm not used to...well...you bargin' in here."
He smiled half-heartedly.

To say Taira wasn't impressed was an understatement. She'd always had a violtile temper, and it seemed she was in danger of exploding sometime soon. Her pupils had expanded in the darkness, and her dark eyes were now pitch black. Not exactly a comforting image to have - black eyed demoness.
"Don't worry yourself too much about the shirt. Nothing I haven't seen before. Trust me on that."
She pointed out with mild amusment and then regretted it. Not exactly the right tone of conversation to follow considering what she'd just heard from Kuro. She made a mental note to get her revenge, maybe she'd spill some of his secrets to that vampire he was so fond of. See how he liked it for a change.
"Are you angry with me? About what my brother said, are you angry with me?"
She asked quietly, dropping the volume of her words though she fixed him with an intense stare.

"Ah...right."
He looked at the floor, and put a finger on his lips to ponder something. When she'd brought up that one question he flinched once, and looked back up at her. When he saw her eyes, he reached for the small, dim light on his desk. He flicked it on, and the room was filled with a light/dimness.
"I am...But, I'm not..."
He started out slowly, and quietened his voice as well. He looked back up at her beautiful eyes, and sighed. He lifted himself from the edge of his bed, and walked over to the beautiful girl.
"You did what you wanted. That's fine with me. Even if it happens with me...Even if you leave. Yeah, I'll be torn to pieces, but....I'll still have the memory of it. Right?"
He cupped his right hand over Taira's left cheek, and looked at her carefully. Trying to read her expression. Pain? Worry? He didn't know.
"Always, and forever, I will remember you the way you are."
He whispered to her, softly.

Perhaps, if Taira had been in a calmer mood, more stable she would have pulled the boy into a hug, and held him tightly. His gentle words would have reassured her somewhat, and she would be happy. But the fact of the matter was, she wasn't calm. She stayed silent for a moment, simply looking back at the boy who held her face so gently. The silence was simply the calm before the storm.
"That's it?"
She asked, and then anger flared wildly through her. She moved her hands and shoved him hard on the chest, forcing him to stumble backwards. Her eyes flashed steely and her hands balled into fists.
"If I walked away now you'd remember me?? You wouldn't try and stop me, you wouldn't even try and FIGHT FOR ME?? IS THAT HOW MUCH YOU CARE?!"
She screamed the last words, and didn't care who heard. Her clenched fists were shaking with anger, much like the rest of her. She pulled back her lips and snarled angrily, flashing her teeth. She may not be technically able to shift her body into the hell form but the livid expression and her pitch eyes was a clear reminder that Taira was in fact something demonic.
[[oooh, Taira's unstable. And angry. Fun stuff.]

"up, up, up...Tairraaaa!"
Ashi was leaning on the back wall, where his bed touched, and was waving a finger, with a smirk on his face.
"I said I'd let you leave if that were your choice..."
He opened his eyes, and both were burning with anger, and laughter.
"I didn't say I'd let the other person live...now did I sweet one?!"
He asked her calmly, folding his arms across his chest. He'd do as he'd said, and it couldn't be a pretty sight.

"Don't give me bullshit Ashi! Not today."
She snarled in a brusque response. He fists were still clneched, but she uncruled her fingers and ran them through her curls, tousling them slightly.
"Do you know what gets me? You didn't even ask me if what he said was true! So what, you just assume I'm like that? That I'm just some bitchy, man-eating whore? That's what you think of me? Well guess what, you don't have the right to make those assumptions!"
She hissed angrily. It didn't matter that that the words hit close to the mark, Taira didn't like being judged like that. It didn't help she was about ready to murder.
"Is that why you're with me? Becuase I'm soft and warm and easy? Becuase if it is, you're life's about to get a lot harder... I will walk away from this right now, and I won't come back. Understand?"
She dropped the volume of her words to a dangerously low tone, her eyes like steel.

"I would never say that. What makes you think I would EVER say something like that! And Kuro or not, I'll rip his throat out gladly, kill myself by fighting him, if he did Anything to harm you. In any way!"
Ashi growled back at the girl, but his body froze. When Taira had lowered her tone to a menacing rhythm, and spoke those last words, a menacing pain stabbed his chest. His hand flew to the middle left part of his chest, and he fell to his knees. The sound of his heart. It was frightening, beating as fast as someone's in shock. The first time it had beat, was with Taira...and it looked like the last time it would stop beating was with Taira too.
The silence was killing him. Literally. The sound of his too fast pumping heart stung every time it beat. And then...nothing! With a last blood draining thump, it stopped beating.
"Tai...ra?"
His voice whispered quietly, searching for a reason.

"WHY DOES EVERY CONVERSATION TURN TO KILLING SOMEBODY?? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU-"
She was screaming the words, as her anger began to rise again but she stopped when he fell the floor and she became aware of the frantic drumming heartbeats. A frozen heart shouldn't beat, she knew that much.
"Ashi?!"
She asked is angry confusion, and then silence took over again and the heart stilled once more.
"What the hell is happening?"

"Y-you made it die?! Why you?"
He whispered, lifting his head up from looking at his bare chest. His arms slide somewhere to his sides, and he looked at the girl with agonized eyes."I loved that feeling.... The blood finally pumping...the feeling...finally able to feel that feeling."
His teeth chattered together, and he sat there, stunned to death. His eyes didn't move, didn't blink from watching Taira's expression. He truly loved her...he did really! But, the fact his heart started to beat with her that time in the classroom. When she was meditating, it felt wonderful, for the first time. And it was with her, no one else. But now...now it stopped to her too? Something was wrong with him...not her, him! Did she really want to.... End this feeling forever by leaving him again?
Frozen eyes watching her, didn't move.

“Because I’m amazing!”
Taira snapped bitterly, words heavy with sarcasm as she eyed the male carefully. Her arms were still folded across her chest and her eyes were still dark and dangerous. She wasn’t a sympathetic creature by nature, and even though part of her felt the desire to comfort it was outweighed by her stormy rage.
“What the hell is up with that? It’s dead, it’s alive, it’s dead again! It’s fucked up and freaky!”
She added angrily, tossing her curls over her shoulder. Her own hearts were still beating easily, though the tempo was raised slightly by her anger. She stared back into his unblinking eyes easily.
“You are fucking with my head Ashi. I don’t like it.”
She growled.

"Then get out of my sight!"
He hissed angrily at the girl. He stood up, towering over her. He'd had enough of being punished for nothing[/b] he did wrong. It was going to stop right there.
"If you hate me so much Tairadenai! Then leave me like you did before!"
He yowled at her, angry with himself for saying what he didn't want to say. He didn't want it to end so soon. He didn't want it to end...ever. But she was pushing the buttons with her anger, and he wanted her to stop it.
"Because let me tell you something! I'm a freaky ass person you got that!?"
He pointed a finer at her face, both eyes blood red with angst and anger. His slim body hanging over Taira's, he tried to calm his breathing.
"Let me tell you something else!"
His voice was still harsh as he stepped closer to the angry girl.
"You're not alone...ever"
Ashi's voice got soft and soothing, and he snapped his arms around the girl's body. Kneeling down, he took her with, keeping his forehead pressed on her shoulder.
"Never...tell me what's wrong? Who's bothering you?"
He whispered.

For twins, Taira and Kuro didn't look a lot alike. However, when Ashi towered over her, the similairites became suddenly apparant. Her snarl was dangerous and sent chills down the spine, and the look in her eyes plainly flashed the warning 'do not mess with me boy'. She glared at him as he spoke, not saying a word. Her hands were still shaking, and if she had not been born with that flaw, she would have torn out of her skin and reverted to hell's base creature. Fortunatley for Ashi; she could not.
She was tempted to bite the finger he was shoving in her face clean off, and was considering wether it would be better to shift first when he suddenly snapped his arms around her and pulled her to the floor. A growl shook her body. She hardly heard the words. She moved her hands up to his hair, a routine movement. However, as her fingers tangled in the dark locks, she tightened her grip and physically yanked his head backwards so he could see right into her glaring eyes.
"This is not how it works."
She said in those dangerous tones, and then shoved him away from her body and stepped backwards. Her heels clicked untill she was at the doorand her eyes were narrowed.
"This isn't going to be fixed just becuase you're throwing yourself on me, and clinging and wrapping yourself all around me, okay?"
She snarled, folding her arms tightly across her chest as she glared down at Ashi, able to actually do that now she was standing and he was still kneeling.

"Then...I'll leave....Fix this the way you want to princess"
He snarled the last word.
"you're like your brother!"
He snarled those words as well, like the worst insult he could think of and pushed her away from the door. He snatched the handle, making dents on his hard pressure, and swung the door open. Taking a stride out, he slammed a fist into the wall, making it crumble at the gapping hole he'd made. Shirt or not, he had to get away from his room. It held the stench of the Devil's daughter. His real spawn, and she was too angry to give a damn about him. He'd wandered if she'd ever given a damn about him.
Maybe this was just a joke to play with his head, like she'd wanted to do since she'd met him. Or maybe Kuro was doing this, threatening her to do this for something that he'd taken from her. Kuro...Kuro was the problem. She'd said it before, and he didn't catch it then. It was Kuro's fault. He was trying to ruin this.
"Well guess what....You're not getting your wish."
He snarled in a low deathening tone, his whole body shaking with anger, and he stomped off to the males' room.

Ashi was one of those people strong enough to force her to move, which was why she was shoved away from the door. She didn't stumble as most people might have, her feet moved to support her shifting weight as her body moved away. She hissed something evil sounding as Ashi stormed out the door. Apparantly, storming out wasn't enough as with a crash, his fist hit the wall and a section of it flew towards her. It could have done some damage, but Taira was fast. She caught the large peice of wall Ashi had punched out in her hands, and then tossed it easily to the side.
Taira glared silently at the crumbling chasm in the wall for a moment, and then she screamed in anger. It was an awful sound, a inhuman war cry that sent nightmares racing into sleeing minds, while most shot awake but were too scared to move. One being however, heard the noise and was on his feet in an instance. Kuro practically flew to door, his feet barely touching the floor as he burst through his door and out into the hallway. His eyes narrowed as he saw Ashi storming towards him, ans rapid thoughts put 2+2 together.
"What did you do?"
He snarled. Normally he would have run to his sisters side, eaten people later. However, he could tell the difference between anger and fear, and he knew his sisters health was not a concern. However, there had to be a cause for her rage and Kuro was pretty certain he was staring at it.

"What did I do...WHAT DID YOU DO?! You Bastard, you're the one that made her angry...She thought that I was angry with her for what you told me about her! She thought I was mad with her for being a,"
He made quotes with his fingers and dropped them to his sides again.
"whore! This is your fault Kuro! NOT MINE!!!"
Ashi snarled through his chest and spat the words at the male.
"YOU GO TALK TO HER, AND TELL HER YOU DIDN'T MEAN IT RIGHT NOW YOU LITTLE SHIT HEAD!"
Ashi was growling and snarling, holding back the erge to rip the other boy's throat into pieces. He could let Kuro kill him all he'd wanted, but he wouldn't get away with hurting the one this that he held dear to him.
"NOW!"
He repeated to the boy, breathing heavily. His claws were digging into his skin and the blood dripped on the carpet.

Kuro knew he'd made an impact with his previous words. They were designed to get to Ashi, to make him hurt. He knew his sister woudl get angry with him, but she was angry with him alot. He was used to her rage, and he could wether the storm. Ashi's rage didn't bother him though. Kuro took a breath to calm himself down and then simply smirked.
"No."
Was all he said, golden eyes glinting. He was pushing Ashi he knew, but he didn't have time to dwell on it as a figure appeared at the end of the corridor. Kuro sighed and closed his eyes breifly, as Taira emerged from the other room and turned her attention to him.
She hissed something low and dark, and well, evil sounding. Then she ran towards him. Her eyes were dark with anger and she moved so fast that so many people would miss her travel from one end of the hall to the other. Kuro didn't. She slammed into him, fists beating against his chest. As she slammed her tiny fists against him, he wrapped his arms around her. She wasn't angry, she was upset and was protecting herself with that rage. If she was angry, she'd be going for his throat.
His golden eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Ashi, daring him to try anything. Taira was upset, right now Kuro wasn't letting anybody else touch her. He murmured to the girl in their own tongue, and listened to her hissing words. Eventually, she stopped hitting him and just clung to him. Drained. Kuro knew her random mood changes, so he just scooped her up in his arms, taking her feet from the floor as he cradelled her close. Ashi wasn't yet, she was so unpredictable. He'd learn though, learn to take the hits and be there when she fell.
She murmured something and he sighed softly.
"She says she's sorry."
He translated reluctantly and Taira nodded against her brothers chest, unable to look at the boy she'd hurt so badly with her earlier words. Scared to. Taira jsut held tighter to her brother, the rock in the storm she'd thrown herself into.

Ashi snarled in a low warning filled tone, but his eyes narrowed when he saw Taira's small figure blur past him. He didn't move an inch, not one, when he was scooped into the other's arms. He wasn't used to the sudden changes in her temper, it'd have to grow to him before he'd actually understand. Like with Kuro. Sure they hated each other for unknown reasons, but he didn't intend to kill him. More or less even talk to him if he had the chance to skip by the male at any costs.
"Tell her I'm the one that should be sorry. I wasn't supporting her.... She probably doesn't want to listen to me right now. I'll leave her to you, so...do your big brother thing and cheer her up OK."
Ashi turned around and looked at the gapping hole in the wall by his door and chuckled.
"I guess I set myself up for that punishment....Eh, I'll just ditch out like usual."
He opened his door, and hesitated at the entrance.
"I'll, um...be in here, if you want or need anything, alright?"
He said to Taira, not caring if Kuro was listening or not, in a muffled voice. Hoping that the girl would come back, he pressed up against the chilled wall and waited. He didn't want Kuro to comfort her. He wanted to be the one able to do that. She could take it out on him for all he cared, he just wanted to cradle her. Just to calm her if that's what it did. Anything to make her happy again. He'd do it, just need a heads up in warning to get ready.
He clicked in his memory the signs of what she would do before she had gotten upset or angry, and made it a memory locked inside the front of his head, to get ready to rumble with what she was upset about.

Kuro stayed silent as the other boy spoke, only listening to the males words and the mumbles escaping his sister. She'd got herself into a state again. She wouldn't take his advice, but Kuro was pretty sure Taira was over her head. The Hive wasn't something she should be medeling in, she had enough to worry about. And even though she was the bitch from hell, she did fall down occasionally. The higher she climbed, the further she fell and Kuro wasn't sure if he could keep putting her back on her feet. So he just let her cling to him and carried her back inside, so she could have her breakdown in some privacy.
***TIME SKIP***
"You going to be okay?"
Kuro asked her, and she nodded her head, not sure she could answer. He pulled her into a hug, and the action reasured her once more. When he released her, she smiled up at her brother and then stepped towards the door.
"I'll be right here if you need me." "I know."
She opened the door and stepped outside. Then, hesitating she glanced over her shoulder and threw him a word she hadn't used since she was five.
"Dashka?" "Dashka."
He comfirmed with a smile, and she closed the door and walked off down the hall. She took a deep breath as she stood before the door, and then she opened it and took a quick step inside before she fled. Keeping her eyes downcast, she didn't dare look up at him, even though her keen sense's told her of his precise location.
"I guess I'm not so perfect after-all, huh?"
She said softly.
